Join a leading global pharmaceutical organisation renowned for innovation and excellence. Due to significant investment and continued expansion of their capital projects team, they are seeking a talented Automation Engineer to strengthen their dynamic team.
Role Overview: As an Automation Engineer within a Capital Projects Team, you will play a crucial role in managing, maintaining, and optimising automated manufacturing systems, ensuring reliability, compliance, and superior operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance automation systems, maximising operational uptime and efficiency.
- Oversee system administration including user management, regular backups, and system restoration.
- Diagnose issues promptly and implement effective corrective measures, liaising with external vendors where necessary.
- Identify and deliver incremental improvements and optimisation projects.
- Actively participate in capital project planning, execution, commissioning, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to both site-specific and corporate quality assurance standards.
- Generate, review, and update engineering documentation and validation test protocols.
- Contribute proactively to the development and implementation of global automation strategies aimed at standardising processes.
- Execute automation-related projects, managing timelines, budgets, and quality deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in GMP manufacturing environments, ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Demonstrable proficiency in automation platforms such as Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or equivalent systems.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in troubleshooting complex automated systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
